What is content marketing?

The short answer is that content marketing is just a way to promote your business by creating content like blogs and social media posts. It’s not the right strategy for every business but it can make use of assets you already have to expand your reach and visibility both online and off.

What kind of businesses should use content marketing?

There’s not a simple answer here. Many different kinds of businesses can effectively use content marketing. If you have a portfolio of projects or spend a lot of time educating your clients, a content marketing strategy could be a great fit for your business.

Content Marketing Plans FAQ

What are the requirements for a content marketing plan?

First and foremost, you need to have your own website. Without this, I can't create the base content for your weekly campaigns. If you don't yet have a website, let's talk.

The other requirements depend on which plan you choose. I've put together a handy chart to show the other major requirements for a content marketing plan with Carlene Can.

My website isn't a WordPress site. Can you still help?

Probably. As long as you have complete access to your website and it's not managed by a corporate office (sorry, franchisees!), I can evaluate its capabilities and see if we can use it. WordPress is capable of doing a lot-- most websites on the internet are powered by it. Let's talk about what you're using and make sure it can handle everything your business needs it to do.

Unfortunately, Drupal is not supported at this time.

Why do I have to use MailChimp?

If you have another email marketing software that you can't part with, I'll evaluate it on a case-by-case basis. If I determine your software is functional for your campaigns, you can keep the software you know and trust with an additional  $49/ mo fee.

How does billing work?

After you select your plan, you'll be given the choice of multiple contract term lengths. The longer the contract term, up to one year, the better your monthly rate.

You'll receive a monthly invoice that you can pay online securely through PayPal or you can mail a check.

Although the onboarding process will take about 2 weeks, there are no set-up fees. You'll pay your web host, Constant Contact and any other vendors directly.

What is ad management?

I'm so glad you asked! Your plan covers the creation of original content to share organically from your website through social media and email marketing. If you'd like to make a bigger impact, you can add a paid reach strategy to your organic content marketing campaigns. I'll add the necessary integrations for you to use data-rich ads on Facebook and Google. With every content marketing plan,  I waive the customary 15% commission applied to online ad spends.

Can I use co-op dollars to pay for your services?

Absolutely! I am a big believer of finding the best ways to offset your marketing expenses and tapping into your vendor's co-op dollars is a great way to achieve that goal. If you have vendors that offer to share in your marketing costs in exchange for promoting their brand, I'm happy to work this into the core of your unique marketing strategy.
